The design itself is currently re-designed from scratch i only took the dataset from the old version.Strange if all was working before - such an upgrade / migration wouldn't change permissions of articles etc AFAIK.
How did you do the upgrade 3.10.12 to 5.x? You need to update to 5.x from 4.4.x
